All Nations University celebrated its Founders’ Day over the weekend as part of its 20th anniversary with a colourful performance at its main Campus in Koforidua of the Eastern region.
The celebration on Sunday honored Dr. Rose Donkor and Rev. Samuel H. Donkor as the University’s Founders.
Rev. Dr. Samuel H. Donkor, the man who founded All Nations University, receives both a citation of honor and a citation of gratitude from students and professors.
As the celebration of Founders Day came to a close, the delighted spouses tenderly sliced the 20th anniversary cake that had been specially made.
Staff and students attended the event, and Michael Okyere Baafi, the MP for New Juaben South and deputy minister for Trade and Industries, as well as some members of the Alumni Association, who attended to express their joy and gratitude to the university’s administration for what the university has made of them.
Speaking to the crowd at the celebration, Prof. Aaron Nii Lante Lawson, the chairman of the school’s governing board, said that contemplating and establishing All Nations University is a really admirable notion.
Speaking on this year’s theme “Celebrating 20 Years of Quality and Innovative Higher Education in Ghana” according to the university was strategic because the current global education is driven by positive innovations.
Prof. Lawson praised the university’s founders for their efforts in creating the tertiary institution to offer top-notch education to everyone.
He claimed that since its founding, the school has accomplished a great deal, including the creation of a new campus, the launch of a satellite into orbit, and the university’s accreditation as a charter with the introduction of distinctive and superior new programs to benefit students in Ghana and abroad.
Prof. Aaron Nii Lante Lawson pledged to further the school’s achievements in the upcoming years on behalf of the governing Board.
Prof. Simon Degbe also praised Rev. Dr. Samuel H. Donkor and Dr. Mrs. Rose Donkor for their regard for mankind despite all of their achievements and honors in his keynote address.
Prof. Simon Degbe challenged the students, faculty, and governing Board to emulate the qualities of the university’s founders in order to run the institution successfully in the future. This included a commitment to continually improve the practical learning facilities at All Nations University in order to keep its graduates competitive.
Prof. Degbe believes that the governing board and alumni should prioritize expanding the university’s current facilities.
The Founder of the school, Rev. Dr. Samuel H. Donkor in a sideline interview with Kaakyire Kwasi Afari, he mentioned that his school (All Nations University) is poised to improve medicine, technology and food processing Engineering to supply proceeds for the country.
According to Rev. Dr Donkor, food preservation is key in minimizing economic hardship and cutting down cost of living because it will ensure availability of food in challenging times
“We want to bring down the cost of living with respect to our food, and the only way is for us to produce and preserve it so that it can be distributed to people throughout the year,” he told Kaakyire Kwasi Afari.
He stated that the University is starting a 150-acre plantation of plantains and cocoanuts to achieve this goal and to assure food safety in Koforidua and throughout Ghana.
According to Rev. Dr. Samuel Donkor, “this year, African Union recognised All Nations University as one of the most innovative Universities on the continent, courtesy of the dedication of the faculty’s, students’, and the university’s governing board.”
Another lovely event calendar included a career day, Presidential discussion with different tertiary institutions, STEM workshop, sports day, alumni dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Donkor, graduation ceremony, Thanksgiving service, and Tehilla Concert as part of this year’s colorful acknowledgment.
