Police introduce comprehensive anti- human trafficking education campaign

In line with the proactive prevention policing method of the Ghana Police Service, the Service has brought a complete programme to train the overall public on Human Trafficking and its associated offences.

The training will cowl all stakeholders along with college children, victim’s network members, in particular the ones in groups maximum tormented by human trafficking. As a part of the programme, on June 29, 2022, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the Central Regional Police Command launched into an outreach programme at a few decided on basic schools at Gomoa-Dago withinside the Central Region.

The outreach programme, turned into geared toward sensitising the students at the phenomenon of child trafficking, its destructive outcomes on sufferers and the society as a whole. The crew additionally took the possibility to train the students and workforce on sexual offences and a way to mitigate such occurrences. In all, one thousand and fifteen (1, 015) pupils and 15 teachers from Gomoa-Dago Basic A & B, Trinity Academy and Success Academy participated in the sensitisation programme together with two Assembly Members from the Gomoa-Dago community.

Police thanked teachers of the Gomoa-Dago community and the three schools for availing their pupils and staff to the Police for the programme.

 

Police has assured the public that the outreach programme will continue in other communities across the country in order to enhance security awareness among targeted groups and also build closer relationships between the Police and the public.
