The President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s most current list of nominations for minister and deputy minister is being reviewed by Parliament’s Appointments Committee.

K.T. Hammond, a member of parliament (MP) for Adansi Asokwa, has been proposed as the minister-designate for Trade and Industry, and Stephen Amoah (Sticka), a member of parliament (MP) for Nhyiaeso, as Hammond’s deputy.

Bryan Acheampong, the MP for Abetifi, has been proposed as the Minister of Food and Agriculture, while Stephen Asamoah Boateng would serve as Minister of the Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Ministry.

The president appointed Herbert Krapah as Deputy Minister for Energy and Mohammed Amin Adam, a Karaga MP, as Minister of State in the Finance Ministry.

In the meanwhile, with little under 24 hours until the vetting, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) instructed the parliament’s minority caucus to refuse to endorse any of the president’s new ministry choices.

The party contends that the caucus should advocate for a smaller, more efficient government in order to stop wasting precious public funds.
