Betty Mould-Iddrisu, a former attorney general, has lamented the difficulties Ghanaians are facing as a result of the economic crisis under the Akufo-Addo administration.
She claimed that Ghanaians have been let down by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who has also lead the nation into a hole.
In an interview with Joy News that GhanaWeb watched, Betty Mould-Iddrisu stated that Ghanaians had gone through a lot of hardship and are currently going through a difficult time.
Betty Mould-Iddrisu responded immediately to the interviewer’s question about how President Akufo-Addo, her friend of 70 years, has managed Ghana’s affairs since 2017: “into the pit…every Ghanaian can see that we have been misled and it is a pity that we have to continue even for another year.”
“I think Ghanaians reeled from the shock, they cannot believe what they are in. I must say, I cherish being a Ghanaian even in the most difficult times because I think we are incredible people, we are so generous and we have this innate capacity to absorb so much…we have endured a lot,” she said.
“I think everybody can see that this government has severely failed us down,” The country’s governance has been abhorrent, and even I never imagined it could reach this point, according to Ghana’s first female Attorney General.
She added that it was wrong for the government to link the country’s economic crisis to the start of COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war.
Betty Mould-Iddrisu characterized those remarks as government misbeliefs.
