The Ashanti Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dennis Kwakwa has said the ongoing by-elections has brought a lot to the economy of Kumawu constituency.
He said this in reaction to some Kumawu youth allegations that they are distributing money, rice for people to vote.
“We have nothing against the people of Kumawu and we can’t take the people of Kumawu for granted. We want the best for them” Dennis Kwakwa stated.
Speaking in an interview with Prince Nii Ade (Dr Cash) during the by-elections at Kumawu, he said “why would we share money to the people when we have a lot for them already by buying of things like food, contributing to their tourism by using hotels and has projected Kumawu constituency as a whole.”
The opposition National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) presence in Kumawu for the present by-election has been criticized by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a waste of time.
In an interview with Otec FM in Kumawu, Mr. Ahiagbah said that the NDC as a party is well aware that they have nothing to boost of in Kumawu and that it would have been better for them to stay out of the elections because Kumawu residents are voting to elect a new MP following the passing of Hon. Philip Basoah.
According to him, the massive infrastructural projects both completed and ongoing in the area happened under the governance of the NPP and with that, the people of Kumawu are surely going to honor the NPP with massive votes.
He however urged Kumawu residents to step out in their number and vote for Ernest Yaw Anim, the NPP parliamentary candidate for a better and developed Kumawu.
