As part of MTN Ghana’s 21 Days of Y’ello Care, employee volunteers from MTN Ghana trained over 2000 women entrepreneurs throughout the nation in digital marketing techniques.

The purpose of the informal session was to advise the ladies about how to use social media and smartphones to expand their customer bases and grow their businesses.

MTN Ghana collaborated with specific neighborhood groups to mobilize the ladies. The beneficiary women, who were chosen from the unorganized sector, received training in product branding, client relations, and fundamental financial concepts.

The goal of this year’s Y’ello Care initiative is to help these aspiring female entrepreneurs manage and expand their enterprises more effectively by providing the right resources.

Accra, Kumasi, Kintampo, Wa, Wamfi, Walewale, Cape Coast, Takoradi, Tamale, Bolgatanga, Nkroankan, Jasikan, Ho, Wa, Damango, Goaso, and Sefwi-Wiawso were among the locations where the training sessions were place. Reaching small business owners in both large cities and areas outside of capital cities was the aim.

Adwoa Wiafe, the Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, made the following remarks on this year’s 21 Days of Y’ello Care: “we are very excited at the opportunity to impact the lives of these hardworking indigenous businesswomen. The informal sector contributes greatly to our economy and we hope that with the newly acquired digital skills, these women will grow their businesses to increase their profit margins, improve the livelihood of their families and contribute to national development.”

A group-wide employee volunteerism program run by MTN called 21 Days of Y’ello Care gives employees the chance to actively participate in community development initiatives in all the nations where MTN does business. The initiative has had an impact on millions of people and communities throughout Africa since its launch in 2007.
