Prof. Mike Oquaye has been chosen by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to lead the party’s vetting committee for its flagbearership election.
On behalf of the National Council, the decision was made on May 30 by the party’s National Steering Committee.
This was revealed in a news release given on Friday, June 30, by the party’s general secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong.
After then, Mr. Kodua formally established the committee. At the same time, he urged the party’s members to uphold its charter and act honestly in all of their transactions.
On November 4, 2023, the New Patriotic Party will choose a flagbearer for the elections of 2024.
But in order to reduce it to five, the party will summon a Special Congress on August 26.
Ten people have already submitted their candidacy papers to run for the job.
