Alan as flagbearer of NPP would make it easier to break the eight – Amewu

Mr John Peter Amewu, Minister for Railway Development who was on the campaign trail, told the delegates that electing Mr Kyerematen as the flagbearer of the party would make it far easier for the NPP “to break the eight.”

Since Mr. Kyerematen had a spotless record while in office, he was the least criticized by rivals of all the candidates running to lead the NPP, according to him.

“We are introducing to you a candidate who would greatly simplify our work… I’m from the Volta Region, and I can tell you that there is a lot of support for Alan there. He is the only one who can end the NDC’s control there, he continued.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amanfrom, Mr. Sylvester Tetteh, praised Mr. Kyerematen’s accomplishments, highlighting his leadership of the Presidential Special Initiative (PSI) under previous President Kufuor and the industrialization plan of President Akufo-Addo.

Additionally, he insisted that Mr. Kyerematen was the NPP’s greatest chance to win the 2024 election and asked the party’s national delegates conference to endorse him.

Prior to its National Congress on November 4, 2023, where over 200,000 delegates would elect the party’s flagbearer to lead the party to the 2024 general elections, the NPP is anticipated to hold a special conference of 900 delegates to reduce the number of its presidential aspirants from nine to five.
