Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, the coach of Asante Kotoko, is rumored to have left his position less than a month after the Kumasi-based team won the Ghana Premier League.
After meeting with the technical committee of the Board and Management on Wednesday afternoon, Coach Ogum reportedly gave in his resignation, according to Oyerepa FM.
Many people are still shocked by Coach Ogum’s resignation, especially given that the club’s preseason activities don’t officially begin for another three weeks.
Sources for Ghanatodayonline.com claim that Coach Ogum and the club management had a falling out about transfer goals for their CAF Champions League campaign and employment terms.
The insider stated, “I am not surprised because there have been problems with transfer targets and conditions of service.
At the conclusion of their great season, the club lost three of its important players, Mudasiru Salifu, Fabio Gama, and Kwame Baah.
Kotoko will likely begin preparing for the forthcoming season by taking part in the G6 GHALCA off-season tournament in Kumasi the following month.
Last season, the Porcupine Warriors won their 24th Ghana Premier League championship under the direction of the former WAFA coach.
