The “Kwaku the Traveller” hitmaker, Black Sherif, is allegedly being detained by Ghanaian security forces upon his arrival at Kotoka International Airport on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, according to many allegations circulating on social media.

The 21-year-old musician was reportedly rushed to Accra’s police headquarters for questioning on a July 4 show he didn’t perform in Greece, which constituted a contract violation.

According to reports, Blacko, as he is jokingly known, was hired to perform on a cruise ship in Greece for which he allegedly paid US$40,000 and only received half of the money.

The musician was reportedly detained at the Kotoka International Airport because he had been added to the stop list following a complaint the client had made against him.

Black Sherif’s team has not officially confirmed the arrest, though and the Ghana Police Service’s officials are similarly quiet on the subject.
