The leadership of Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON), students wing of the governing New Patriotic Party NPP in the Ashanti Region have accused the party’s Executives of adding alien names to the register for the forthcoming primaries.

According to them, 37 out of the total members of 58 TESCON presidents have been removed from the album and replaced with non-TESCON members in variance to the Party’s constitutional provisions.

Addressing the media on Friday May 27, 2022, TESCON president at Valley View University, Seth Agyei said he was replaced with one Lydia Osei who he claimed is a nurse working at Manhyia Government Hospital.

He accused the regional Executives of imposing aliens on them as TESCON members, a move they vowed to resist.

The group reminded the Regional Executives of the loyal service of the student wing “TESCON” in the region since its inception, “We have loyally served the Party as Polling Agents during all elections and organizers for student support and votes on campus among the large student population.”

Mr Seth alleged that TESCON had presented a register of all presidents in the region  to the party’s executives for the final compilation of the general register but the Executives ignored it.

He, therefore, called for urgent steps to rectify the anomaly to facilitate the interest and continuous participation of TESCON in all activities of the Party in the Region.

For his part, the TESCON presidents Knustford University College Filip Akowua Marfo said they will not organize any TESCON activities for the NPP if nothing is done to clear the anomalies in the album.
