The printing of an album for more than 200,000 party delegates was funded by New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen.
The list of delegates also includes representatives from the council of elders and patrons, chief executives of the metropolitan, municipal, and district governments, and representatives from the Tertiary Education Confederacy (TESCON).
These are elected officials who represent all 275 of the nation’s electoral districts, including Santrokofi Akpafo Lipke Lolobi (SALL) in the Oti Region.
The former Trade and Industry Minister’s campaign team paid the party the money on March 22, 2023, after the party’s general secretary had sent the presidential candidate a reminder with the subject line “Pledge to Absorb Cost of Printing Albums for Presidential and Parliamentary Primary” on February 28, 2023.
“In reference to your [Mr. Kyerematen’s] visit to the party offices on December 9, 2022, and your ensuing pledge to fund the expense of printing albums for the party’s presidential and parliamentary primaries,” the letter stated.
“In view of the preparation towards the presidential and parliamentary primaries, the leadership of the party would be grateful if you could make payment in fulfilment of the pledge.”
In the presence of Madam Rita Asobayire, Alhaji Masawud, and Dr. Charles Dwamena, the Party’s National Treasurer, the cash sum was delivered to Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party’s general secretary, at the party headquarters in Accra.
Dr. Samuel Yaw Annor, Nana Yaw Adutwum, and Kwarteng Asare-Bediako were Mr. Alan Kyerematen’s counselors.
