President-elect John Dramani Mahama received heartfelt congratulations from Speaker of the House of Parliament Alban S. K. Bagbin for his resounding win in the election last Saturday.
This comes after the announcement made by Mrs. Jean Mensah, the chairperson of the Electoral Commission and the returning officer for the presidential elections.
In a statement issued from his office, Speaker Bagbin said he was impressed by Mr. Mahama’s confidence, which he called a brave display.
“Today, we celebrate not just a victory, but a reaffirmation of our democratic principles,” Bagbin stated. “John Mahama’s win is an affirmation of the will of the people, and I am confident that he will lead Ghana towards greater prosperity and inclusivity.”
As part of his congrats, the Speaker urged Ghanaians to support the recently elected president. We must now work together to assist him in his endeavor to build the nation.
“We can work together to address the challenges that lie ahead and make sure that good governance has an impact on all citizens,” he stated.
