Alban Bagbin urges Traditional Leaders to protect Ghanaian family values

The Ghanaian Family Values Bill and the Proper Human Sexual Rights Bill were both overwhelmingly approved by parliament, and Speaker of the House Alban S. K. Bagbin has reiterated his unshakable support for both.

At the 2024 Suma Akwantu Kesie Festival in Suma, in the Bono Region, on Saturday, the Speaker, in a keynote address delivered on his behalf by his Aid, Mr Peter Bamfo. He said that the bill’s passage represented a victory for the nation’s democratic principles and a reaffirmation of its commitment to preserving traditional values.

As a result, he urged the traditional leaders to keep pushing for the maintenance of the nation’s core principles.

He expressed his admiration for the Suma Traditional Council’s forward-thinking leadership in redefining the celebration as a driver of progress in the traditional region.

In addition, he commended the Council for taking the lead in creating a modern social hub in memory of the late Nana Kwadwo Adinkra, the inventor of the Adinkra symbols.

“The Adinkra Center will serve as a beacon of hope and opportunity, providing invaluable resources for youth training, cultural education, and socio-economic empowerment,” Speaker Bagbin said.

In order to secure the region’s prosperity, the Speaker further urged the people of Suma to unite behind their leaders.
