All co-curricular activities that senior high schools engage in outside of their campuses are to be temporarily suspended, according to a directive from the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS).

Due to insufficient funding, the decision was made at the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting for the third quarter on Thursday, July 21.

“Most of the money sent to the schools these days is for perishables, and aside from the fact that it is insufficient for even feeding the students, it is equally misappropriation of funds if we should continuously use such funds for things they are not intended for,” CHASS said in its resolution, which was released after the meeting at New Juaben SHS in Koforidua.

When funds for the specific programs are deposited into our accounts, it promised, “We shall take the necessary action.”

Sports, culture, the National Science and Math Quiz, and the Sharks Quiz are just a few of the events.

To prevent any confusion in the approach adopted by CHASS,” regional chairs of the Conference have been encouraged to communicate with their regional directors and alumni.
