John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, has charged that the Jubilee House is behind a social media fake news campaign that is intended to undermine him and his political endeavors.

Mahama claimed that the seat of government has turned into a focal point for false information directed at him and others during a mini-rally held Tuesday in the Eastern Region’s Asene Manso Akroso constituency.

His comments followed a statement by Nana Kwabena Ofori, the Chief of Akyem Akroso, refuting claims that he had just visited and backed NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

As the 2024 elections draw near, he urged Ghanaians to exercise caution and double-check facts to avoid becoming victims of disinformation operations.

“While Nana was speaking, he said journalists should be careful and not misconstrue him. Nana, it is not the journalists; it is the Jubilee House. That is where people are misconstrued. It is called fake news when what you have not said is reported as something you have said.

“It is not the right thing, but they have done it to me, they have done it to you, and a lot of people. So, all fake news on social media comes from the Jubilee House,” Mahama added.
