After a 15-year-old school girl was killed by unidentified assailants in the Assin South District of the Central Region, residents of Nsane near Ayaase have been left in dismay and dread.

The deceased, Priscila Ataa Botwey alias Atta Kakra, was discovered laying supine in a thicket outside of the town, nude and with her head severed. She was located about three meters away from the corpse.

Her clothing covered the neck where it had been chopped on the corpse, which was in a decomposed condition.

The deceased, a Junior High School 1 student at Assin Jakai Basic School, reportedly resided with her relatives in the same village and was five months pregnant.

According to information collected by Otec News Yaw Boagyan, the deceased was seen arguing with her partner, Nana Yaw, a taxi driver stationed at Abura Dunkwa, about the pregnancy on March 8, 2023, at around 10 am.

The deceased’s corpse was discovered in a bush with her head severed on Sunday, March 12, 2023 in the evening, after which the deceased and her lover were last seen in the town.

Joseph Yankson, the deceased’s grandpa, had previously informed the Nyankomase Ahenkuro police headquarters about her missing granddaughter.

However, a farmer named Kojo Boadi had informed the grandpa that while traveling to his farm, he had noticed flies buzzing around a specific area in a bush.

When he looked around to see what was going on, he discovered a deceased human corpse lying there.

He later went with him to the precise spot and discovered that the individual in question was his granddaughter, who had been brutally murdered.

A group of Nyankomase Ahenkuro police officers inspected the location of the crime and transported the body to the morgue of the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital under the direction of Detective Lance Corporal Nii Armah Ashitey.

Police have started an inquiry and have started looking for the deceased’s missing partner.
