The 8 girls from Chiana Senior High School were dismissed, and management of the Ghana Education Service has reported this to the school’s disciplinary committee.

In a press statement from GES, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, Head of Public Relations Unit, stated that the School’s Disciplinary Committee will look into further possible punishments for the pupils.

“The affected students were dismissed based on a recommendation from the School’s Disciplinary Committee. Thus, Management has referred the matter to the School’s Disciplinary Committee to explore alternative sanctions other than dismissal,” section of the statement reads.

According to GES, the impacted pupils have to report to the school’s headmistress for further instructions in the meantime.

You may recall that eight pupils from the Chiana Senior High School in the Upper East Region were expelled by GES on Thursday for disrespecting President Akufo-Addo.

The pupils had been suspended before being expelled.

The GES claims that their investigation into the event established that the students insulted the President with foul language.

As a result, the aforementioned students have expressed regret for their behavior and made an appeal to have their dismissal overturned.
