Charles Onuawonto Bissue, a former secretary of the long-gone Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining, has abandoned one of his cases against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
Charles Onuawonto Bissue’s attorneys notified the court on Thursday at a court proceeding that they had been given the go-ahead by their client to revoke the request to overturn the OSP’s arrest order for him.
Following Charles Onuawonto Bissue’s voluntarily turning himself in to the OSP, he was detained, questioned, and then released on bail. The application’s withdrawal was not opposed by the prosecution.
Two further cases Charles Onuawonto Bissue brought against the special prosecutor’s office are still pending. In one instance, Charles Bissue expresses worry over alleged violations of human rights.
The other lawsuit questions the special prosecutor’s office’s authority to look into him despite the fact that he had been cleared by the Ghana Police Service.
