At 8:20 a.m. on September 18, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in South Suntreso, an Ashanti Region neighborhood of Kumasi, something very strange happened.

The Secretary called a man to introduce this year’s Youth Harvest as the Mass was about to close.

A group pleaded with him and seized the microphone from him as soon as he began.

The group claims that no financial statements have been presented since the start of this year.

The group said, “Until the Finance committee presents this year’s 1st and 2nd quarter financial accounts, they will reject any kind of harvest in the Church.” The previous financial presentation covered the third and fourth quarters of 2021.

The group has once more urged the authorities to conduct a genuine handover as soon as possible to give the New Executives, lead by Dr. Robert Sagoe, who have been in charge for almost two months now, a chance to perform their duties.

The organization is requesting that the Archbishop transfer Rev. Fr. David Kusi, the Parish Priest, and immediately fire the chairman of the finance committee for openly opposing the current president during the church elections and for continuing to be biased and sabotage him and the news executives.

The youth also asserts that the current Youth Executives’ term of office has been over for more than a year, and they are demanding for elections of new Youth Executives to take over this year’s Youth Harvest. However, the Parish Priest is refusing to cooperate.

About 90% of the parishioners cheered the group as they finished their presentation, which caused mayhem in the church and a premature conclusion to the service.

The launch failed to take place.
