On Monday, September 9, 2023, Hon. Dennis Kwakwa, the Ashanti Regional Communications Director, concluded the Mampong Kontonkyi XMASS GALA, which had begun over the Christmas season, by urging all of the participants to support the community’s growth in sports.
Matches in the group stage and the championship game marked the beginning and conclusion of the main sporting event.
After the competition was over, Tunsuom Community was declared the winner after defeating Daaho Community on penalties.
For their participation, each team received a package, while the winners and runners-up each earned a medal.
Major local and international teams have been prepared to use the players that were scouted throughout the competition.
The chiefs and everyone in attendance were overjoyed to thank Dennis Kwakwa for taking such a bold step.
They pledged their unwavering support for his unselfish dedication to growing the constituency.
Hon. Clement Opoku Gyamfi, DCE for Amansei South, Hon. Yaw Kwakye, MCE, Konongo, Baffour Asaase Gyimah, Mampong Constituency Secretary, The Ship Dealer of Pure Fm, and many others were among the notables that joined.
To assure infrastructural growth in promoting sports, Dennis Kwakwa has funded the Mampong Kontonkyi Xmas Gala, which is planned to take place at the end of every year.
