Finance Minister to present 2024 budget on November 15

Ken Ofori-Atta, the Minister of Finance, will deliver the government’s 2024 budget statement and economic policy to parliament on Wednesday, November 15.

The purpose of this presentation is to provide an overview of the government’s revenue generation methods and policies aimed at easing Ghanaians’ current economic hardships.

In his remarks on Tuesday, October 31, Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin emphasized the significance of carefully examining the budget to make sure it takes into account the requirements of every Ghanaian. Throughout the process, he emphasized the importance of taking a consultative and consensus-building approach.

Speaker Bagbin of the Eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic expressed trust in the House’s ability and expertise in deliberating on budget approval during the First Sitting of the Third Meeting of the Third Session.

In order to connect Parliament with current legal imperatives, he asked the Budget Bill to be passed quickly in order to allow the engagement of technical staff.

“As our oversight responsibility requires, we will have to scrutinise the budget to ensure that it serves the needs of all Ghanaians,” he stated during his welcome address.
