Raphael Dwamena, a football player from Ghana, passed away in Albania.

On Saturday, November 11, 2023, during a game between his team, Egnatia, and Partizani, this incident took place.

In the first half of the game, the striker who led the Superior of Albania in scoring had a heart attack and passed out.

He was taken to the hospital right away, but sadly passed away.

Nine goals in the league had been scored by the 28-year-old Ghanaian.

Although Dwamena’s death has not yet been officially confirmed, footage from Saturday’s play between Partizani and KF Egnatia, Dwamena’s team, in the top flight of Albania seems to show him falling.

Dwamena collapses on the field in a video that was uploaded to X, formerly Twitter, and players from both teams rush to his side. After then, medical professionals responded to him as an ambulance was brought onto the field.

In October 2021, Dwamena suffered a collapse during a Blau-Weiß Linz versus Hartberg Austrian Cup match, but he bounced back and resumed his career.

Dwamena played for clubs in Denmark, Austria, Switzerland, and Spain during his career.

One of Dwamena’s previous teams, Levante, honored the forward.

“On behalf of Levante, we would like to express our sincere condolences for the death of our former player, Raphael Dwamena,” the club stated in a statement.
