Former President Mahama picks nomination forms to contest NDC’s flagberaership race

On behalf of former President John Mahama, former campaign manager Joshua Alabi and a few Regional Chairmen of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have selected presidential candidacy papers.

Today, Wednesday, February 22, 2023, Prof. Alabi gathered up the nomination papers for the former president John Mahama from the offices of the major opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

As a result, Mr. Mahama will run for re-election to continue serving as the party’s flagbearer leading up to the 2024 Presidency elections.

For the general elections in 2024, the NDC has opened applications for both its presidential and parliamentary candidates.

On the party’s main website, www.ghanandc.com, nomination papers for candidates for parliamentary office will be available for purchase by anyone.

Starting at 8 a.m. today, nomination papers for candidates for president can be acquired from the office of the general secretary at the party’s headquarters in Adabraka, Accra.

The former president announced on Tuesday that he would be running for the presidency in the general election of 2024 under the banner of the opposing National Democratic Congress.

When he convened with the Minority group on Tuesday at his Cantonment office, Mr. Mahama made the official statement.

As flagbearer, John Dramani has received the full support of all NDC Lawmakers in Parliament.

Former Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, former NDC Campaign Manager for the 2020 general elections Professor Joshua Alabi, and former Minister of Communication Kofi Totobi Quakyi were all present at the gathering.
