Madam Frances Essiam, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company Limited, has reportedly quit from her position out of anger.
On February 23, she submitted a formal statement to that effect to President Akufo-Addo, with copies to the Vice President, Chief of Staff, Minister of Energy, and the Board of GCMCL.
“In all humility and respect, I wish to inform of my resignation as the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company Limited (GCMCL),” the message from Mistress Essiam was read in parts.
She thanked the government for its trust in her to lead the business and wished it luck in its endeavors.
“I thank you for having the confidence in me to appoint and reappoint me from 2017. I wish the government well in all its future endeavours,” Madam Essiam stated.
Madam Essiam was appointed by President Akufo-Addo in May 2017 and has since headed the company until her present resignation.
In 2018, she had a dispute with the company’s board of directors and was demoted to acting CEO.
