The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is expected to win a record third straight term in office, according to Minister of Justice and Attorney General Godfred Dame.
He claims that while both the NPP and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) intend to break previous electoral records in 2024, with the NDC hoping to restore a former president to power, his party would prevail.
The attorney general stated that due to the track record of the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo administration, Ghanaians will support the NPP over the NDC in the 2024 elections in an interview with Good Evening Ghana on Tuesday January 17, 2023 monitored by Ghanatodayonline.com.
“I think the NPP has always been in a better position to break the 8. And indeed in 2008, President Akufo-Addo nearly broke the 8… so we have always stood the chance of breaking the 8.
“And I think that now on account of the human resources at our disposal, on account of the record of the government indeed we stand a better chance of breaking the 8.
“”Both breaking the eight and restoring a past president to office have never been done before. They seek to rekindle the past, while we want to break the 8. And I believe that the Ghanaian people would oppose it with all of their might”, he remarked.
Dame said that Ghanaians will reject the NDC because they have nothing fresh to offer.
The NPP has already defeated the NDC’s new national executives, he said, and it will do so again.
