The booing of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Global Citizen Festival, according to Adansi-Asokwa MP, was inappropriate.

The incident, according to Kobina Tahir Hammond, was embarrassing and undemocratic.

He asserted that there are more effective ways for Ghanaians to criticize the President. He claimed that in the nation’s history, a negative precedent had been established.

Even though Ghanaians are experiencing extreme economic hardship, the legislator emphasized that the circumstances do not call for treating the President unfairly.

“That was scandalous. I don’t think that, as a nation, we’ve gotten to that stage. I was petrified when I heard that.

I failed to comprehend it. This is something I’ve never seen before. Setting precedents that cannot be handled shouldn’t be done.

Whatever the subject, it is inappropriate for anyone to boo the president. Because that isn’t democratic, there should be some respect, KT Hammond told reporters on Tuesday, September 27.

His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the president of Ghana, received jeers during the 2022 Global Citizen Festival stage in Accra’s Black Star Square.

After delivering his keynote speech, H.E. Nana Addo was jeered by the audience.

He discussed the efforts made by the Ghanaian administration to eradicate poverty and preserve the country’s unity.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I extend a hearty Akwaaba, our word of greeting, from a very hospitable people,” he said to begin his remarks.

To everyone who has traveled far and wide to the capital of Ghana, Accra, to be a part of this momentous occasion.

His Excellency discussed the effects of the Russian-Ukrainian war and climate change on the global and Ghanaian economies.

The youth were tasked by President Nana Addo to discover innovative and unafraid answers to global issues.

Since no stateman has ever received this kind of response, many have criticized the crowd’s behavior as blatant.

Customers who attended the 2022 Global Citizen Festival in person as well as those who participated online from their homes gave it rave reviews.

The Accra, Ghana event brought together artists and world leaders to advance a policy agenda that was centered on empowering girls and women, safeguarding the environment, and bringing about change.
