The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has revealed that it is coordinating the evacuation of 431 Ghanaians who are stuck in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates with UAE authorities.

According to a news release from the ministry, agents who offered the stranded Ghanaians jobs in Dubai and the UAE deceived them.

Once the victims arrived in the UAE and Dubai, the agents abandoned them.

Even though our stranded compatriots traveled to the UAE on their own initiative, the Ghanaian government was making the required preparations in coordination with the UAE authorities to arrange for their return to Ghana.

The ministry advised potential visitors to the Gulf region to exercise vigilance and be aware of the shady dealings of dishonest agents.
