The Majority Leader and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Hon Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu says he has not and will never endorse any candidate contesting for the chairmanship position in Ashanti.
There is video being circulated on social media that Hon Kyei-Mensah Bonsu has endorsed the Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bernard Antwi Bosiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
In an interview with Ghanatodayonline.com his entire response was, ‘ de3 ab3 b3t) biara y3 mpoy3 mu’. Which literally translates, whoever wins would be accepted.
According to the minister the video, which was recorded during his interview on Kumasi based Fox FM’s mid-afternoon Show ‘Eboboba’, had been edited for propaganda purposes.
In answering a question posed by the host Kwaku Kyeremateng (K K), Majority Leader gave fair assessment of all the contesting Candidates. The entirety of his in-depth response had been edited to make it look like an endorsement for one candidate.
He advised listeners to look for and, listen to the full tape (1 hour) of the interview he had last month from the Station’s social media handles for a fairer and balanced assessment.
Majority Leader once again reiterate his strongest belief in the collective wisdom of the delegates, and would accept their choice of candidature to lead the regional party.
According to Mr Kyei-Mensah he would not make any unconstitutional move to prejudice votes against other potential candidate.
He extends his good luck to all Candidates in their endeavors to serve the Regional Party.
