The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the December elections, Mahamudu Bawumia, has said that he is the leader who best symbolizes Ghana’s future and that the country needs an upgrade rather than a reset.

Bawumia presented his vision for the nation to the media on Sunday, August 25, emphasizing the necessity of progressive reform. He said, “I represent the future, and Ghana needs an upgrade, not a reset.”

“What this country needs is an upgrade, not reset. And if given the mandate, I will roll out the measures outlined in our recently launched manifesto to revamp the economy.

“Sometimes I get amazed when former president Mahama talks about economic mismanagement. He should know his own record,” he added.

In addition, Bawumia restated his 14 main pledges to the Ghanaian people, pledging to maintain the present momentum in the nation.

He promised to undertake comprehensive tax changes, create new employment, and maintain and grow Ghana’s recovering economy. His goals include bringing Ghana into the forefront of the global digital economy, bringing down the cost of living, and developing public infrastructure.

Affirmative action for women and girls, better healthcare for everybody, and more educational opportunities are among the other important pledges.

Bawumia also outlined his programs for promoting sports, the creative arts, tourism, environmental preservation, and good governance. He also emphasized the significance of protecting community safety while fortifying Ghana’s borders.
