I’ll be open to all opinions – Bawumia assures party members

Vice-President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flag bearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has declared that, in his efforts to inspire the party’s grassroots members to success, he will always be receptive to the thoughts, counsel, and recommendations of all parties involved.

In addition, he promised that his office would be open to all party members and that it would work in tandem with the party headquarters, which he described as the NPP’s engine.

Dr. Bawumia made this statement yesterday during a courtesy visit to the party’s National Executive body and employees at its Asylum Down headquarters in Accra.

With his election as the NPP’s flag bearer last Saturday, he was visiting to formally engage the national leadership of the party.

Dr. Bawumia expressed gratitude to the party’s national leadership for the cordial welcome and commended them for their sacrifices in ensuring the smooth running of the party’s presidential primary, which was widely regarded as open, honest, and equitable.

In his capacity as the party’s head, he pledged to treat all parties involved as sons and daughters, regardless of their socioeconomic status, religious beliefs, nationality, or place of birth.

In addition, he expressed his excitement about collaborating with all party members and promised to promptly reach out to other candidates in the party’s presidential primary.

In his welcoming speech, NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong commended Dr. Bawumia and his group for their timely visit to the party headquarters in spite of the challenging circumstances surrounding the recently concluded flagbearership campaign. He also pledged that the party’s leadership would collaborate with all relevant parties to ensure a historic victory in 2024.

In a succinct closing statement, Stephen Ayesu Ntim, the National Chairman of the NPP, emphasized the importance of cooperation and unity among all party members.

Additional national officers present included National First Vice Chairman Danquah Smith Buttey, National Second Vice Chairman Rita Asobayire, National Third Vice Chairman Alhaji Masawudu Osman, National Treasurer Dr. Charles Dwamena, National Organiser Henry Nana Boakye, National Women’s Organiser Madam Kate Gyamfua, National Youth Organiser Salam Mustapha, and National Nasara Coordinator Alhaji Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa.

Samuel Awuku, Anthony Abayifa Karbo, Fred Oware, and Dr. Augestine Blay accompanied Dr. Bawumia.
