Officially, Edward Bawa has taken over as Acting Chief Executive of Ghana’s oil firm, the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC).

He claimed that being trusted to oversee this organization, which has been a cornerstone of Ghana’s energy sector, was a great honor.

He stated that building on GNPC’s mission to explore, develop, and manage our petroleum resources responsibly for the benefit of all Ghanaians is his top priority as he assumes this position.

“I am committed to ensuring that GNPC continues to be a catalyst for national development while maintaining our values of professionalism, innovation, and environmental stewardship.

“My vision is to position GNPC as a global leader in the oil and gas industry while ensuring that our operations significantly improve the quality of life for Ghanaians,” he said.

The former Bongo MP went on to say that strengthening partnerships with our partners to boost investments in the sector is a crucial component of our agenda.

“By working together, we can expand our resource base, enhance exploration and production, and create new opportunities for value addition across the petroleum value chain.

These partnerships will not only drive growth for GNPC but also ensure the long-term energy security and economic prosperity of Ghana,” Mr Bawa said.

“I am determined to prioritize strategic initiatives that align with the dynamic needs of the global energy landscape. We will embrace cutting-edge technologies, attract and retain the best talent, and uphold the highest standards of corporate governance and transparency” he added.

“By fostering a culture of excellence and working collaboratively with stakeholders—both local and international—GNPC will not only meet the energy demands of today but also contribute meaningfully to a sustainable and inclusive energy future for Ghana. Together, we will unlock the full potential of our resources and drive a new chapter of growth for GNPC and the nation.”
