John Mahama, the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) presidential candidate for 2024, claims that the next administration he leads would bring back automatic posting for nursing students upon graduation.
During a brief campaign stop at the Ntrotroso College of Nursing and Midwifery in the Asutifi North Constituency, Mr. Mahama gave the nursing students assurances that, should he be elected in December, their needs would be well met.
“I know all the problems you have with your allowances and everything,” he said to the students who had coalesced around his vehicle to hear him speak. “We’re going to come and make things better for you.”
“Restore automatic posting so when you come out of school, you can get a job as quickly as possible,” pledged the opposition leader.
The trainees’ “younger brothers and sisters who will come after you, when they come to the first year, they are not going to pay any school fees,” he claimed, using the occasion to promote his trademark “No fees stress” program.
On December 7, the former president exhorted nursing students to cast their ballots in favor of reform and the “24 hour economy” agenda.
