The commitment of President Akufo- Addo’s administration to forging a favorable agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has been made clear.

He claims that the NPP has a reputation for rescuing the nation from its economic woes.

“Our party has a history of helping Ghana overcome obstacles. We withdrew Ghana out of HIPC in President Kufuor’s term. We removed Ghana from the 2015 IMF program that had gone awry”, he said.

The NPP’s National Delegates Conference, with the theme “Holding together, Working together,” is being held at the Accra Sports Stadium this Saturday, July 16, 2022, when President Akufo Addo delivered a speech.

Reactions to Ghana’s decision to apply for an IMF bailout have been conflicted.

While some have praised the decision, others have criticized it, claiming that by making unneeded purchases, the government is to blame for the nation’s financial problems.

Nevertheless, President Akufo-Addo declared, “I want to tell the people of Ghana that we would negotiate a fair deal with the IMF.

a deal that would enable us to strengthen our economy even further than it was already, and to continue doing so.

On July 5, the government formally revealed its choice to enlist the IMF for financial assistance.

A delegation from the IMF later visited Ghana to complete an evaluation of the country’s eligibility for the required assistance and to express the Fund’s commitment to helping Ghana.
