It is possible to pass BECE with flying colours – Dr Bawumia message to candidates

Over 600,000 BECE candidates are taking the exams commencing today, Monday, August 7, 2023, and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has wished them well.

The vice president gave the applicants encouragement by telling them they could succeed with flying colors.

On the first day of the exam, Dr. Bawumia posted the promise on Facebook.

Over 600,000 applicants registered for the BECE, a significant 5.4% rise from the prior year.

The candidates, who attend both private and public junior high schools, total about 300,323 boys and 300,391 girls, according to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). There will be 18,993 educational institutions involved in the exam, and 2,137 locations have been set aside to house the candidates.

There will be 1,743 candidates who are Private Candidates, including 889 boys and 854 girls. In comparison to the 1,132 applicants in 2022, this is a huge increase.

A well-trained crew consisting of 2,023 supervisors, 1,816 assistant supervisors, and 19,384 invigilators will painstakingly oversee the exam. For the BECE for Private candidates, fifteen centers were designated, most of which were in provincial capitals, to facilitate a seamless process.

With the examinations for English Language and Religious and Moral Education, the students started their trip today. They will work on various topics throughout the coming days, with the French paper on Friday being their pinnacle.
