Jefferson Kwamina Sackey, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) deputy director of communications, is optimistic that he can help the NPP retake the Ablekuma Central parliamentary seat in the 2024 elections.

It comes after the Abossey Okai Volunteers Group of the NPP chose his nomination on Monday, July 17, 2023.

The group also included former constituency chairman Frank Debrah, Abana Asoke, the presiding member of the Ablekuma Central Municipal Assembly, Victor Okuley Nortey, who had served as a member of parliament for the constituency for the longest time, Electoral Area Coordinators, former constituency executives, polling station executives, and opinion leaders from the constituency.

The group delivered the forms to Jefferson Sackey, host of The Presidential Diaries, at his campaign office at the Great Lamptey Mills School in Abossey Okai after picking them up at the NPP Constituency Office in Gbortsui.

Harrison Titus Asante, the Volunteers Group’s secretary and spokesperson, briefly explained why the Group contributed money to help Mr. Sackey and assured him of the Group’s ongoing assistance. He underlined the Group’s confidence in Mr. Sackey’s ability to retake the seat from the NDC.

After accepting the forms, Mr. Sackey thanked the Group for the kind gift and the delegation for their faith in him.

He stated that obtaining power is the ultimate goal and used the occasion to urge his followers to run a respectable campaign free of slurs and derogatory terminology so that we may band together and use our combined strength to wrest control of the seat away from the NDC.

He said that because he cares about the party’s grassroots, he has started an initiative to reenergize the party’s base.

Jefferson Sackey is now the first PC candidate to choose a form to run in the Ablekuma Central Constituency’s primary this year.

He has so emphasized his certainty in winning the seat for the NPP.
