Ken Ofori-Atta hands over Finance Ministry to Amin Adam

Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has expressed faith in Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, his successor, and asked Ministry employees to stand by him to make sure the IMF’s program for economic growth and transformation is carried out successfully.

Ofori-Atta expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Finance staff in a heartfelt letter, praising them for their unwavering dedication to their work, their unwavering service, and the honor of working together.

With the vision of a Ghana Beyond Aid, he urged them to uphold professionalism, ethics, efficiency, and responsiveness.

Mr. Ofori-Atta specifically urged the group to support Dr. Amin Adam, the team’s new leader.

Mr. Ofori-Atta praised Amin Adam as a knowledgeable, modest, and inclusive leader and emphasized the need for teamwork to guarantee the new Finance Minister’s term is successful.

He said, “The future is here with us as we are blessed with a new leader, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, who replaced the venerable Charles Adu Boahen and has been with us through some of the most difficult times. Let us all circle the wagons and ensure a blazing success for his stewardship.”

Mr. Ofori-Atta thanked the Ministry’s employees for their unwavering dedication to service and quality work, saying it had been an honor and a unique privilege to work with each and every one of them.

“We all know him as a smart, humble and inclusive leader. Let me state with all humility that nothing would honour me and the ‘Office of the Minister’ more than for you to work with renewed diligence to guide Hon. Amin and our nation to the successful execution of the IMF-ECF programme to promote economic growth and transformation.

He exhorted them to continue being steadfast, devoted, unshakable, and committed to the Republic’s work and the administration of the State’s finances.

“Once again, I thank you for your tireless service and commitment to excellence. It has been my utmost honour and a rare privilege to serve alongside each, and every one of you. I pray that you continue to be resolute, dedicated, unwavering and committed to the work of the Republic and care for the finances of the State.”
