In order to guarantee a resounding first-round victory in the impending 2024 elections, former President John Agyekum Kufuor has issued a rallying call to New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters, asking them to show up in force.
Casting back on the past, Kufuor highlighted the negative effects of voter disinterest and internal party strife, which he feels have cost the NPP dearly in past elections.
Kufuor discussed the effects of party divisions during the 2020 elections in a live broadcast. The former president used the party’s electoral defeat in 2008 as a warning. “We lost the second round after winning the first. Kufuor also emphasized the NPP’s accomplishments under his leadership while fervently discussing the value of continuity in governance.
