Before the results of the ongoing Kumawu by-election were announced, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) expressed concern over a pink sheet that had already been signed at the Oyoko Methodist polling place.

The assistant polling agent, who alleged that an EC official pushed the NDC and NPP agents to sign against what the Electoral Commission regulation mandates, brought the issue to the notice of the NDC’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Augustus Nana Kwasi.

In Kumawu, a by-election is being held by the EC as a result of the passing of former MP Philip Basoah in March 2023.

The Ashanti Regional NDC Chairman Augustus Nana Akwasi requested a change in the election officer at the specified voting place.

The pink sheet has however been changed following this development by the Electoral Commission.

The issue has been reffered to the Ashanti Regional Boss of the EC Mr Benjamin Banor-Bioh for further investigation to be conducted over the issue as of the time of filing this report.
