Mahama appoints Fifi Kwetey’s wife as Acting MD of CBG

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey’s wife, Dr. Naomi Wolali Kwetey, has been named the Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited’s (CBG) acting managing director.

According to a graphiconline.com story, President John Dramani Mahama made the appointment, which was formally announced in a letter dated March 26, 2025.

The letter was addressed to the CBG Board Chairman and copied to the Company Secretary. It was signed by Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Minister of Finance.

The article claims that Shiela Azuntaba was proposed as the Acting Deputy Managing Director in the same statement.

The dates of both appointments are March 26, 2025.

The CBG Board has been instructed by the Finance Ministry to regularize the appointments in compliance with the bank’s constitution and the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992).
