According to reports, unidentified assailants lynched a suspected thief in Bokankye in the Atwiman Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region.

Yaw Gyamfi, a deceased mason, is thought to be in his late 30s.

Early on June 1, 2023, his lifeless body was discovered next to some iron rods that he was reported to have stolen nearby.

Some of the locals who flocked to the scene claimed that they woke up to find the deceased’s motionless body and that they are unsure of who may have killed him.

In an interview with Ghanatodayonline reporter Jacob Agyenim Boateng, Madam Jemima Pokua, a member of the Bokankye Electoral Area’s Unit Committee, said they are not surprised by the occurrence because they have recently seen a number of robbery instances.

However, she claimed that she smells foul play in this particular case because there were no indications that someone was struggling there.

She urged the local police to look into the case right once and track out the victim’s killers.

Since then, local police have sent the remains to a hospital for additional investigation.
