The Medical Laboratory Professional Workers’ Union (MELPWU) has declared that on Monday, June 17, 2024, a nationwide strike will begin.
As per the union, the nationwide strike is expected to impact the services rendered by their members in medical laboratories, blood banks, pathology laboratories, and specific funeral facilities.
This decision is a reaction to the Ministry of Finance and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission’s protracted delays in wrapping up their negotiations with the union.
The MELPWU claimed that such acts damage the labor-management relationship and call for immediate action in a statement on June 7.
