As a result of suspected anti-party activities, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Amenfi Central Constituency has suspended a few of its executives.

Forging party cards, the party and its local parliamentary candidate, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, were hauled before the court by the constituency chairman, the organizer, and the main and deputy women’s organizers.

As the NDC’s chosen parliamentary candidate in the constituency, Joana Kodjo faces an injunction for forgery.

Mustapha Gbande, the NDC’s deputy general secretary, stated that the matter has been referred to the national disciplinary committee and is under suspension for a period of six months.

“You are in court to say that you have a problem with the processes that elected her as a parliamentary candidate if somebody has a problem with the process that elected her as a parliamentary candidate in that constituency. Why did the person wait? We have gone through all the procedures, completed the elections, swore her in as the parliamentary candidate, trained her, and prepared her for the final election.

This is blatantly anti-party behavior a premeditated effort to hold the party’s interests hostage. However, the party will abide by the court’s decision. “We are investigating further, and until we clean that constituency and get it ready for the 2024 elections, we will take legal action against anyone else whose actions would also be considered misconduct under the constitution,” he said.
