Ruby Naa Ago Larbi Mensah Ansah-Tagoe, a senior midwifery official at the Tema Health Center, has disclosed that pregnant women should avoid using the missionary style of intercourse since the unborn child would be denied oxygen.
On the GTV Breakfast Show on November 15, 2022, she revealed this.
A heterosexual couple lies flat with the guy on top in the Missionary Style for face-to-face intercourse.
The missionary lifestyle is discouraged since it poses a health danger to the unborn child, according to Mrs. Ansah-Tagoe.
“when you lay at your back, you deprive the baby of oxygen as the oxygen is zero no matter what stage of pregnancy else you are indirectly killing your baby” she stated.
She listed a few sex positions that are appropriate for all stages of pregnancy.
”The first trimester, we have the scissors; that is when the woman would lie down on her side and the man would lay down as well, and they would have sex, meeting one way. There are other styles like at the edge, leapfrog, sit scissor among others.”
The woman’s stomach is once again visible during the second trimester. Among other positions, the cowgirl, reverse cowgirl, spoon, and doggie are advised. It is also highly suggested that the woman always be on top.
She advised ladies who don’t have their spouses around to take a stroll and drink lots of coconut water as her final words.
