MTN Ghana Foundation invests Ghc13.5 million in its Bright Scholarship program

At the MTN House in Accra, the MTN Ghana Foundation gave scholarships to the first group of 2023 MTN Bright Scholarship recipients. Today, September 8, 2023, in Kumasi, Ghana, there will be a second event where beneficiaries will receive another batch of rewards.

This year, the MTN Bright Scholarship will be given to 120 students attending public tertiary institutions for the 2023–2024 academic year. The MTN Bright Scholarship covers the cost of tuition, housing, a laptop, and a stipend for each semester in an effort to lessen the financial strain on students.

In all, MTN Ghana is investing a total of 13.5 million Ghana Cedis to this scholarship scheme, with 2.2 million Ghana Cedis reserved for this year’s batch of honorees.

To conclude the 25th anniversary Bright Scholarship Reloaded Awards, the final batch of awards under this program will be given out the following year.

The CEO of MTN Ghana, Selorm Adadevoh, addressed the audience during the presentation ceremony and expressed his gratitude to all of the scholarship recipients for being chosen for the program. He spoke, “I am personally excited to celebrate you for the exceptional potential that you have been blessed with and it is our objective as MTN to support in bringing this potential to fruition through the scholarship scheme.”

“We have a collective goal as a private sector company in Ghana to support our youth and drive education if we are going to be relevant as a country in a global marketplace in the future. Our hope is in you, and this is why we do what we do,” he added.

The Chief Director of the Ministry of Education, Mrs. Mamle Andrews, speaking on behalf of the Minister of Education said “I say ayekoo to the MTN Ghana Foundation.
