National Cathedral: I was not given any money-Sonnie Badu sets record straight

Ghanaian gospel artiste based in United States of America (USA) and preacher Sonnie Badu has denied claims that he got paid USD50,000 for a music ministration on the launch of the National Cathedral withinside the US.

The gospel artiste is claimed to were paid USD50,000 for appearing for five min and 15 seconds on the fundraiser held in Washington DC, US.

Reacting to the allegation, the gospel artiste disclosed that he was not given a dime for his overall performance on the event. “Wow, thanks for alerting me, I was not given a dime .. not even a seat for me and my team, we stood outside.,” the gospel artiste tweeted on Monday, 20 June 2022.

Sonnie Badu Management in quick rebuttal in a message said they were not given a penny because the organizers told them that it was a charitable event to raise funds for the cathedral for his country back home.

“The management in the USA did not receive a dime and to date has not received any monies from the organizers.Therefore,the team wishes to dissociate themselves and International Act,Dr Sonnie Badu from any National Cathedral funds reimbursement allegations” the statement added.
