Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president of the republic and the New Patriotic Party’s presidential candidate, has charged that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is stealing the policies of the NPP administration.
Bawumia made this statement on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, in Accra, during the party’s inauguration of its campaign and manifesto teams. He claimed that the NDC has no message for Ghanaians and is now claiming credit for some of the NPP’s accomplishments and goals.
“They are making promises that we have already done. Do you hear that they want to do Free WIFI in senior high schools? Can someone tell them that it has already been done? I mean just whisper…. little research, they NDC would have known.
“But they are promising things we have already done. It tells you that they are running out of ideas when you start copying ideas of your opponents and trying to present them as yours,” Dr Bawumia said.
The vice president declared, “We will soon put out our record for public scrutiny as the president mentioned in the performance tracker which Kojo Oppong Nkrumah will launch very soon for us next month,” adding that the NPP government’s record is significantly better than the opposition NDC’s.
Dr. Bawumia went on to say, “Our track record is solid and evident to all.” We have outlined our vision clearly, and the manifesto will support it. We are clear about our goals for the nation. It is extremely evident.
Demand unification of the party
He cautioned party members to assist the campaign and manifesto teams in communicating the party’s accomplishments and goals to the general public.
He asserted that the party’s only chance of winning the general election in 2024 is via unity.
In other words, we have the concepts and the vision and are working to put them into practice.
I think we have all the essential components to win the 2024 election, and if we work together, we can make it happen.
