The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) workforce has given notice that they would oppose any nomination of a non-permanent staff member to the position of chief executive officer (CEO) in Kumasi, Ghana.
This follows rumors that the President is contemplating appointing Prof. Okyere Addai Mensah to succeed Dr. Oheneba Owusu Danso as CEO of the flagship hospital after consulting with Ashanti Regional Executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“No KATH staff, No CEO; We are competent of managing our own business,” the aforementioned staff notice stated.
After more than three decades of service to the referral center, Dr. Oheneba Owusu Danso restired last week.
