NPP sets April 13 to elect Parliamentary Candidate for Ejisu Constituency

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has established deadlines for choosing a parliamentary candidate for the upcoming Ashanti Region by-election in Ejisu.

Following the passing of Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah, an NPP member of parliament, this election procedure is taking place.

Nominations for prospective parliamentary candidates will commence on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, and end on Thursday, April 4, 2024, in accordance with the agreed timetable.

The primary election is scheduled for April 13, 2024, on a Saturday.

Prospective candidates must acquire nomination forms after paying a GHC 3,000.00 nonrefundable application fee.

In order to properly file the nomination, a non-refundable filing fee of GHC 35,000.00 must also be paid.

However, particular consideration will be given to women, minors, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), who will also receive a 50% refund on filing expenses.

Mr. Danquah Smith Butey will serve as chairman of the Election Committee (EC), which will oversee the process, while Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako will serve as vice chairman.

In a statement, NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong emphasized that no one will be prevented from obtaining nomination forms.
