Nsuta Kwaman Beposo MP calls for Parliamentary intervention over Fulani herdsmen activities

Adelaide Yaa Agyeiwaa Ntim, the Member of Parliament(MP) for Nsuta Kwaman Beposo Constituency in the Ashanti Region has pleaded with Parliament to step in and stop some alleged Fulani herdsmen whose criminal activities, including rape, farm destruction, and other violent acts, are making life unbearable for some of her constituents.

Presenting the statement on the floor of parliament Hon Yaa Agyeiwaa Ntim stated “Mr Speaker the residents are now in their desperation and helplessness mood to the extent that they recently held a public demonstration to express their concerns, the people of Deduako have to endure cruel and horrified incidents of rape and extreme violence. I am therefore calling for immediate and effective solution to these menance.”

“Mr Speaker the presence of these Fulani herdsmen has transformed our peaceful constituency into a region crippled by fear and panic to the residents thereby interrupting the social lives of the community. It is something that we must to use the representatives of the people to address  it immediately” she stated.

“Mr Speaker let me clarify that this appeal is not against the Fulani community as a whole, we acknowledge and appreciate the section of them that live among us in peace and harmony contribute positively to our society and abide by the rules of the country. Mr Speaker I would like to employ this honorable house and relevant stakeholders to intervene and ensure that peace is restored to Nsuta Kwamang Beposo.” she emphasized.

Contributing to the statement the MP for Sawla Tuna Kalba Andrew Chiwitey called for the enactment of a law to curb the negative activities of some nomadic herdsmen in the country.
